Studio Assistant, Vibrations Studios, Huddersfield

Yorkshire Sound Women Network (YSWN) seeks to provide better opportunities specifically for women within the music industry, and is working with music and sound industry employers to challenge and change the gender gap.

YSWN has teamed up with Vibrations Studios to offer a paid Studio Assistant trainee opportunity.

This is a positive action paid trainee opportunity aimed at women, non-binary people and other marginalised genders aged 18-25 years old. Applicants must be resident in Kirklees.

Vibrations Studios provides professional recording facilities, high quality rehearsal studios, live sound services as well as photoshoots, music videos, audio equipment repairs and equipment hire. Find out more at: https://www.vibrationsstudios.co.uk/

The trainee will get real-world experience of working in a busy recording/rehearsal studio, with the opportunity being tailored to suit your particular interests within the music industry. Tasks may include:

· Studio maintenance
· Recording & mixing bands
· Live sound work at external events
· Shadowing sound engineers
· Office administration

As part of the placement, the trainee will also receive support and supervision from Vibrations Studios staff.

Skills / Experience / Attributes

· Interest in / knowledge of studio recording techniques.
· Ability to record sound and set up plugins in ProTools preferred, but not essential
· Willingness to learn
· Team player
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Strong work ethic and commitment
