Go Compose: Electronic India

Do you want to learn DJing, computer based music production, audio electronics and sound composition?

The department of Music and Drama at the University of Huddersfield, in partnership with Yorkshire Sound Women Network is offering a six-weekend series of free workshops for girls and young women* in Kirklees between the ages of 11 and and 18 – visit the Go Compose website at gocomposehuddersfield.co.uk to see the full list.
* We welcome cis- and transgender young women and girls, as well as gender non-binary/non-conforming young people.

The workshops will be delivered by experienced and DBS-certified practitioners and educators. No prior experience is necessary and we encourage participants to attend all days.

Electronic India

For ages 11-15

Discover music technology and Indian music through performance and composition!

Come join us on this cool fusion project exploring Indian vocal music, computer music and studio based music production.

Activities:
• Understand the basics of sound recording
• Learn about Indian music scales
• Understand what happens in a recording studio
• Direct the production of your own original track
• Collaborate with friends in a music technology environment

Workshop leader info:
Artists Jess Aslan, Supriya Nagarajan and Mark Mynett are three experts specialising in interactive music technology, Indian music performance and studio and sound engineering. Each of these international level musicians regularly works within the community leading music production workshops and projects combining music and culture.
