Our next taster session which is part of our 'Introduction to Printmaking' collection is etching!

with artist Neil Anderson.

This session will introduce you to the technique of etching, an intaglio printmaking process, where lines and tones are bitten into a metal plate. (This is traditionally done using an acid, however we use a solution of copper sulphate – a less toxic alternative). A print is then taken from ink which is held within these bitten marks. Learners will be guided through the process of plate making, inking and printing in the traditional intaglio way.
