Linocut Printing – Taster Session – June

This taster session will introduce you to the technique of linocut, a form of ‘relief’ or ‘block’ printing, where a lino block is cut into using specialist tools or ‘gouges’, and a print is taken from the surface. Learners will be guided through the process of cutting, inking and printing a lino block, using specialist tools, inks, and our large Imperial platen press.

Our new taster sessions offer an introduction to some of the key printmaking techniques offered and practiced here at WYPW, and a glimpse into the processes involved in creating hand-made prints. You will be guided and encouraged by experienced artists who use printmaking in their own art practice, in a professionally equipped workshop setting.
