Colour Mixing for Screen Printing – CREATE! Workshop – January
How can we use colour to make an impact, to express a mood and/or to make a statement in our print work? How do you use colour? Are you intuitive or do you feel you struggle to make decisions about your use of colour? Have you really thought about your approach to colour recently?
Maybe it’s time to have a play and explore the wonderful world of colour mixing using simple hand cut stencil screen prints.
Starting with basic colour theory, we will analyse how other printmakers have used colour and look at how you can use reference to develop your colour mixing, using system 3 inks and textile medium. You will then develop screen printed colour square designs to explore over-printing and the possibilities of producing 7 colours from 3 colours on paper or fabric.
