In this 'Taster Session' we will introduce you to the technique of #etching, an ‘intaglio’ printmaking process, where lines and tones are ‘bitten’ into a metal plate. (This is traditionally done using an acid, however we use a solution of copper sulphate – a less toxic alternative). A print is then taken from ink which is held within these bitten marks. Learners will be guided through the process of plate making, inking and #printing in the traditional intaglio way.
