Supporting growth in the arts economy - Arts Council England
The Arts Council recently published a report aiming to inform their policy around arts and the creative economy. The report brings together three papers entitled 'The arts economy', 'Place infrastructure and digital' and 'Towards an arts and creative economy'.
The report, written by Tom Fleming and Andrew Erskine highlights synergies between the arts and the creative industries, and suggests how the Arts Council can support the arts to further its contribution to the wider creative economy.
The authors also explore how arts organisations can operate more effectively in a commercial environment in addition to building stronger connections between the arts and creative businesses, as well as exploring the effects of digitalisation in seeking to reach more people and generate new revenue.
