Talk: Ripping Yarns with Alistair I MacDonald
Ripping Yarns is a series of short films from the Kirklees textile trade by Alistair I MacDonald which explore the innovative businesses in Kirklees who are pioneering practices such as recycling unwanted clothes in order to generate electricity, using digital technology to push the boundaries of textile design and recycling denim to soundproof cars.
Join Chris Squire from Impossible Arts as he talks to the Director of Ripping Yarns, Alistair MacDonald and special guests about making the films.

Showing alongside Ripping Yarns is a selection of excerpts that explore the rich textiles heritage of Kirklees with contemporary and archive footage. Drop in to Queensgate Market during the festival, the films will be shown in the market demo zone, Monday 10th to Saturday 15th - 11am to 4pm, free.
