INTERWOVEN - Embroidery for longer lasting clothes workshop
Explore traditional embroidery skills brought to Kirklees by people across the world, coming to work in the textile industry. Techniques will include Indian Kantha, brightly coloured Caribbean patterns, and Irish Mountmellick embroidery.
These embroidery techniques will be used with a view to repair, sustain and update textiles, working on pre-loved fabrics giving them a new lease of life.
This workshop is suitable for anyone over 15 and of all abilities, including beginners. All materials will be provided, but if you have an item of clothing or textile you would love to update, please feel free to bring it with you.
This workshop is FREE, but you do need to BOOK.
From 4.30pm - 6.30pm
