How to be a Craftivist: Art of Gentle Protest by Sarah Corbett

How to be a Craftivist: Art of Gentle Protest by Sarah Corbett

If we want our world to be more beautiful, kind and fair then shouldn't our activism be more beautiful, kind and fair?

That's what Sarah Corbett believes and will be showing how she is doing activism differently that has lead to real positive change.

Sarah is an award-winning activist, author and founder of the global Craftivist Collective. She grew up in a low-income area of Liverpool into a family of activists campaigning on local and international issues. She set up the Craftivist Collective in 2009 after becoming a burnt out activist and doubting the effectiveness of many traditional forms of activism. She now provides craftivism products and services for individuals, groups and organisations around the world to be effective craftivists in the art of 'gentle protest' Come and hear stories of how her slow, quiet and intimate form of activism using handicrafts (mostly hand embroidery, cross-stitch and paper-craft) has helped change government laws, business policies as well as hearts and minds.

7.30pm, tickets £7 full / £5 concession
