From Now On In . . .

Wide Awake Devon would like you to join us in a space designated to the live performance community to reflect on 2011 and begin to think about what you would like 2012 to bring to your practice.

This day long workshop will approach 2 questions:

What did you achieve or learn in 2011?
What do you want to achieve in 2012?
Due to busy lives it is often hard to find concentrated time to look at where your practice has been and where it is heading. This is a chance for you to spend the day reflecting and assessing both your own successes and those areas that need development.

Through this workshop we hope that you will build your individual ambitions for the year to come, including mapping resources and what support is needed in order to achieve these ambitions.

The day will be led by one of our favourite facilitators from the region, Dominic Somers. Dominic is an experienced facilitator who has worked creatively and therapeutically in the criminal justice system, business sector and creative industries, facilitating change and development for individuals and organisations. Dominic is also an accredited action learning facilitator and Creative Producer for CEW - Creative Ecology Wiltshire with a background as theatre practitioner and maker.

The day will have 4 main focuses that Dominic will lead us through:

Play – as artists, practitioners and makers it is vital we take time to play and through this process we can start to generate safety, ideas and direction.

Reflect – to take space is essential for the development of practice, projects and performance. So let’s reflect on 2011 and what has been achieved, what was learnt and what was missing?

Record – what should you achieve in 2012? What difference will you make? What is that idea, project or performance that you need to make happen? Make your declaration of commitment for moving your work and practice forward.

Action – what actions will you need to take to bring alive your declaration and make things happen. We will start the process of action planning your path into 2012.

We will be charging a small fee of £7 for this event that covers costs and a lovely spread put on by Exeter Phoenix. (Please let us know if you have any dietary requirements).
