The Seagull at Watford Palace Theatre
This new version of Chekhov's The Seagull is by Headlong, renowned for their innovative, accessible re-imaginings of classic texts. Headlong’s recent work includes the critically acclaimed Medea (a co-production with Watford Palace), The Effect, Earthquakes in London and Enron.
Chekhov’s play about unrequited love explores emotion, creativity and romantic conflict with the clarity of a doctor and the heart of a poet. One of the greatest plays of the modern era, it’s a story about how we create stories.
It will be directed by Blanche McIntyre, recently described by the Evening Standard as “a rising star”.
