Undercurrent Weekend 2012
Friday 17th, Saturday 18th, and Sunday 19th August
10am - 4pm
All activities are FREE
Take part in this three-day weekend of playful installations and interactive games across Shoreham’s town centre, for inquisitive adults and mischievous children. After a hugely successful weekend last year, Undercurrent is back, with even more artists creating adventures by the seaside.
Meet us at the information point in front of the church on East Street for your map and a programme. For up to date information see theundercurrent.co.uk or follow @Undercurrent_SE on Twitter.
Before I Die by Candy Chang
If you could do anything, what would it be? Would you sing for millions of people, meet Spiderman for lunch, or just be completely yourself…? Share your hopes and dreams - they're more likely to come true that way, you know?
In the Flesh by Billy Cowie
There is a dancer, but she is hiding. Can you find her? Try your 3D glasses for size to help you look. She will appear in front of you, solid and real.
The Unbuilt Town by Seth Kriebel
A short six-player game exploring how places create memories and how memories create places. In this verbal maze, you will wander through streets of Shoreham real and imagined - all without leaving your seat.
Undercurrent artists are also looking to 2013, and have already started creating original projects about you, your neighbourhood and the places you know. Over the weekend, help Bunty and her lullaby machines weave your sounds into her live gig. Meet Victoria Melody as she talks sailors, hearties and sea dogs. Tell Lewis Gibson how and why you memorialise important people. Join Me and the Machine in imagining the possibilities behind closed doors, and explore with Pebble Gorge to find hidden signs of our changing world.
