Adrian Marden at Trestle: Open Studios 2015

As part of the 2015 Open Studios, local artist and Herts Visual Arts member Adrian Marden (see brochure page #41), will be exhibiting at Trestle Arts Base with a selection of digital drawings conceived to celebrate and document everyday items.

The limited edition prints catalogue the careful crafting of the forms and the detailed finishes of ‘Everyday Things’ which sadly we either ignore or discard. Whilst we may re-cycle some of the materials used to make these items, we throw away or overlook the objects which demonstrate the ingenuity of their designers and the inventiveness of their manufacturers.

These images are made by first carefully observing the subject, there is no computer trickery or photographic technique involved. The software is then used to provide a set of drawing tools, somewhat like a printmaking process with similar possibilities and limitations.

Adrian will be in the Trestle Gallery Cafe for informal meet and greet sessions throughout the exhibition, where anyone is welcome to come along and chat to him about his work.
