Jerusalem at Torre Abbey Historic House
From Common Players, in association with Exeter Northcott Theatre, a new production of Jez Butterworth’s critically acclaimed play, Jerusalem, will be performing on the lawn in front of Torre Abbey Historic House on Saturday 7 June at 8pm.
Jerusalem premiered at the Royal Court Theatre, London in 2009 and became the Evening Standard’s Best Play of the Year. It is an epic and heroic play about our great British need for a connection with the landscape and our roots. In part a lament about the erosion of country life and in part a rebuff to the antiseptic modern world, JERUSALEM charts the chaotic and hilarious events over the 24 hours of a local
mid-summer festival.
Food and beverages on site available to make this a great opportunity to enjoy a great event outdoors. Please bring blankets cushions and picnic mats. No glass permitted on site. Age 14+ contains strong language.
'Refreshing, humane, touching and wickedly funny.' Evening Standard
