Torre Abbey Museum / Events / Thu 12 May 2016
Drawing at Dusk
Free entry for all this evening, with an opportunity to try sketching and painting undisturbed as evening settles on Torre Abbey. Drawing stations will set up in the ruins and gardens, inside the palm house, in the galleries and under-crofts. Experienced artists will be on hand to provide guidance and encouragement, so whether you are an advanced draftsperson, studying or a complete beginner, we encourage you to join in!
Basic drawing materials will be supplied including paper, drawing pencils and boards, but boards will be limited to the first twenty people, so feel free to bring your own if you prefer. Only dry materials can be used in the House, but you are welcome to bring watercolours/gouache to use in the Gardens.
Free entry to the museum from 5.15pm, when Isabella Necessity arrives for children's storytelling.
Guided drawing for young people and adults from 6.45pm - 8.45pm, although you are welcome to begin earlier.
House & Gardens close at 9.00pm.
Twice a year, Culture24 invites all UK museums, galleries and heritage sites to throw open their doors after hours to showcase their treasures in unexpected ways for Museums at Night.
