After escaping from slavery, Douglass became one of the most eloquent advocates of abolition. He toured the length and breadth of Britain in 1845 in support of the cause, and was acclaimed one of the foremost spokespersons for freedom.
Lectures are free of charge to Torquay Museum Society Members. But the general public are also welcome to attend - £5 per ticket, payable on the door
