TEA & CAKE AT TOLSON MUSEUM
To mark 150 years since Huddersfield was granted a Royal Charter as a Municipal Borough, the Friends of Tolson Museum will be exploring what this has meant for the people of the town at their next ‘Tea & Cake’ event on Wednesday, 11 July.
The social event is at Tolson Museum, Ravensknowle Park, Wakefield Road, Huddersfield, between 2pm and 3.30pm. It is free to attend.
Following a public inquiry at the George Hotel, Huddersfield in November 1867, it was announced in February the following year that the town was to be granted a Charter of Incorporation. The Municipal Borough of Huddersfield formally came into being on 7 July 1868.
‘Tea & Cake’ sessions are held on the second Wednesday of every month at Tolson Museum and feature a range of activities and guest speakers.
