Exploring Textile Art through Found Objects with Nicola

One of three workshops across Thread Republic’s residency in Fair Trader, exploring aspects of Textile Art with Nicola Twynham. Using found objects from everyday life we will explore couching
and hand stitch techniques to combine objects with fabric in this experimental and playful session. We will create samplers for you to take away and discuss how you could build on these techniques. You will finish feeling inspired to integrate objects with your stitching practice moving forwards. No embroidery experience needed.

The workshop will have Covid precautions in place. Participants will be asked to wear masks and will have their own set of tools and materials to use alongside the small group size. The workshop is on the ground floor of the FairTrader, accessible around the side of the building.
