Craft of Weaving: 2 Day Course: Rush Shoulder Bag
10am - 4pm
£120 - includes materials. Lunch and refreshments provided
With Linda Lemieux.
Linda’s workshops are always great fun and incredibly productive. This course is a must for anybody who likes making from native, indigenous British plants, to create a beautiful and useful "hunter-gatherer" shoulder bag/satchel. The design for this unique sustainable fashion/clothing accessory is inspired by a 4000 year old rush basket found recently in the White Horse Hill Kist on Dartmoor.
It includes a fascinating insight into the sustainable harvesting of rush in the South West of England. You do not need any experience and you will have the opportunity to try a range of different techniques that will include weaving, twining, coiling, plaiting, knotting. The courses are not just for beginners, but intermediate students and returners.
