Showcasing artwork & films made by artists & young people at Dartington
Arts Lab is an artist-run studio offering multidisciplinary workshops, mentoring and opportunities for collaboration. Play, experimentation and a participant-centred approach are key to its ethos. We also believe in the power of art in affecting social change by embracing inclusivity and social and cultural diversity. With guidance and facilitation from professionals working in the arts, we empower through individual expression and help to enhance wellbeing in all its forms. At the same time, we want to develop and promote a higher calibre of arts in the rural south-west.
The Lab is a resource for:
• young people between 12 and 24 – workshops creating opportunities and raising aspirations to transform the lives of ‘forgotten’, hard-to-reach individuals;
• the community-at-large – workshops tailored to specific groups: adult general drop-in; kids after school club; team-building; mental health; teacher-training; portfolio preparation; refugees; students of English as a second language;
• professionals working across all the arts to air ideas, collaborate, produce high quality art and run paid workshops/mentoring sessions.
Met up with the Arts Lab participants and have a chat over mulled wine & mince pies Wednesday 7th December, 4-7pm, and Saturday 10th 11-2pm
