After Dark: Adem and Laura Moody
Audiences should be on the Dartington estate (White Hart) at 8.00pm
£10.00
Dartington Hall lights up its hidden, dormant and unseen spaces with a series of intimate gigs and events in secret locations.
Singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist and creator of the acclaimed album ‘Homesongs’ Adem brings his instrumental pastoral pop. Joining him will be wildly alternative cellist, vocalist and avant-singer-songwriter, and long-standing member of internationally acclaimed Elysian String Quartet, Laura Moody.
"Whispering in the direction of Thom Yorke, Bob Dylan and David Kitt, Ilhan's voice imbues shades of longing with a coarseness and honesty of his own" GUARDIAN (on Adem)
"witty and imaginative songs, drawing on a multitude of vocal and cello timbres that match her scattergun lyrical turns and eccentric vocalizing” TIME OUT (on Laura Moody)
"for enjoyable astonishment, nothing quite beats the singer-cellist Laura Moody. She plays lyrically; then as if it was a box for sound effects. She sings her own almost-pop songs, gurgles, hoots, wails, taps her throat with the bow. Yet it's all seamless, as if she, the cello and the music are a single organism." IRISH TIMES (on Laura Moody)
