A proclamation that one brother should remain unburied, left to decay on the fields for carrion to ravage.
A loyal sister, Antigone, defiant of the State, buries him. Creon, her uncle, is determined to uphold the Law and punish those who disobey at whatever cost. Family loyalties and personal politics collide in this most passionate and timeless of ancient Greek tragedies. Needless to say it gets bloody.
Actors of Dionysus’ radical new adaptation of Sophocles’ masterpiece is set in a dystopian, post-truth age where birds are drones and someone is always listening.
