Suffragette (12A)
‘Suffragette’ is the story of the early feminist movement to have women granted the right to vote, and the extreme, sometimes violent lengths to which they were prepared to go.
Denied this right by the government, and having seen peaceful protest achieve nothing, the suffragettes became militarised in their desperation for change, and were willing to lose everything to achieve victory.
A powerful drama about one of the most turbulent periods in British history, ‘Suffragette’ stars Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham-Carter and multiple Oscar-winner Meryl Streep as Emmeline Pankhurst, the leader of the suffrage.
There are two showings of the film, Wednesday 2nd March at 2pm and Tuesday 8th March at 2pm.
Tickets cost £3 and there is an approximate running time of 106 minutes.
