There have been some wonderful collaborations between our much loved venue and various artists over the years, but perhaps none as rich and rewarding as that between The Old Town Hall and Barb Jungr. To celebrate this happy union, we have invited Barb to present a striking double bill of song; long may our relationship continue.

Barb Jungr - No Regrets

On 16 October Barb appears with Jenny Carr on piano and Dudley Philips on double bass with her much requested chansons repertoire including the specially commissioned translations that have brought Jungr two New York Awards and established her career in the UK. The concert will also include material by Jacques Brel and Leo Ferre as well as some of the British and American chansons writers including Richard Thompson, Elvis Costello and Jungr’s great love Bob Dylan.

Jungr’s notable album releases include Woman - Hymn To Nina which brought her critical acclaim and rave reviews, and her most recently released CD Hard Rain, which has won the Broadway World Award for best Cabaret CD 2014.

Barb Jungr - Love Me Tender - the Songs of Elvis Presley

On 17 October Barb appears with Jenny Carr on piano and Dudley Philips on double bass with her collection of Elvis songs completely refashioned. Audacious and dark, Jungr re-imagined the Deep South with her extraordinary arrangements of songs such as Love Me Tender, Kentucky Rain, In The Ghetto and Always on My Mind.

Jungr’s notable album releases include Woman – Hymn To Nina (featuring the repertoire of Nina Simone) which brought her critical acclaim and rave reviews, and her most recently released CD Hard Rain, which has won the Broadway World Award for best Cabaret CD 2014 alongside garnering 4 and 5 star reviews worldwide. Jungr is shortlisted as Best Vocalist by the London Cabaret Awards 2015 and for best celebrity vocalist in the Manhattan Association of Cabaret Awards 2015.
