TADPOLES WORKSHOPS (Starting Tuesday 27th April 2010)
Tadpoles is re-launching with a brand new programme of workshops designed specifically for budding young actors and those interested in working in the theatre.
The new fortnightly workshops set to begin every Tuesday evening from the 27th April 2010, running throughout term-time.
Each workshop will explore a basic theatre craft including things such as: acting techniques, props making, wardrobe, improvisation skills, lighting and sound, script interpretation, and audition tips.
The workshops will be run by experienced theatre practitioners, all of whom have vast experience in professional theatre, both locally and nationally.
This programme will eventually lead to a tadpoles production at the Little Theatre to be selected by the Tadpole members – casting priority will be given to those people attending the workshops.
'We already have a rich history of younger members going on to drama school and professional careers, but these workshops are open to anyone with even a passing interest in theatre,' added O'Connor. 'More than anything we want it to be fun and hopefully we'll all learn something, as well as have a great time.'
An introductory evening is being held on Tuesday 27th April, with the following workshops already pencilled in:
11th May Improvisation
25th May Get Up Stand Up: Physical Theatre Techniques
8th June Script Interpretation
22nd June Developing a Character
6th July Voice Technique
Membership of Tadpoles is open to 14-20 year olds and costs just £10 per year. For more information join the Tadpoles Facebook group or contact The Little Theatre on 01803 299330.
