National Youth Music Week @ The Lighthouse Music Hub

The Devon Music Collective at the Lighthouse Music Hub is running a range of exciting and innovative workshops over half term as part of National Youth Music Week 2010. The initiative is aimed at getting children and young people creating their own music. Encouraging them to discover that music is power all young people from Torbay and South Devon will be able to take part in workshops funded by Torbay Grass Roots Fund.

With a host of activities ranging from Rock Camp to Sing Stars and music video production to a Young Promoters Club the week will be full of entertaining projects.

The week long action will kick off with an Oxjam charity gig on Saturday 23rd and continuing on Sunday 24th featuring the biggest line up of bands in South Devon since 2007 with a suggested donation of £5 on the door, all proceeds of which will be donated to the charity Oxfam. To round the week up the Collective will be running an end of week showcase bonanza for the friends and family of everyone taking part that will give the young people a chance to show off their newfound skills.
