Latest view of mural in Queensgate Market space

Artist Kasia Breska continues her transformation of the Event Space in Queensgate Market this week. Last week she completed this wall of the ‘alphabet’ section. Soon you will be able to go up and decode the symbols, revealing the history of the market and the story of the people behind its construction and who works there.

The rest of the space will be painted over the next week with Kasia's colourful designs inspired by the architectural elements of the market building.

The project is part of the Temporary Contemporary initiative which places contemporary art within vacant spaces within Queensgate Market. and is a partnership between the traders at Queensgate Market, Kirklees Council Markets and Creative Economy Teams and the School of Art, Design and Architecture, University of Huddersfield.
