Art's Birthday events in Huddersfield

Art’s Birthday is an annual exchange-art event celebrated on 17 January by a collection of artists and artist organisations around the world. As part of the Temporary Contemporary initiative a number of artists have taken over empty shops in the Piazza shopping centre in Huddersfield. Some of these will be opening their shops to celebrate Art’s Birthday on Friday afternoon and the latest exhibition in Queensgate Market will be open in the Market Gallery. Arts Birthday is been celebrated by various arts organisations who are offering creative activities in the Piazza from 12:30 onwards:

Unit 2: West Yorkshire Print Workshop – Drop in Exhibition and Artist Showcase
Unit 3: “Play” & “Rework” Tote bag printing workshop
Units 4 – 15: CollaborARTI: Art installations and open arts, music & creative sessions
Unit 29/30: Ame- Drop in Exhibition
Unit 32: Dark Horse – Theatre: public rehearsing
Unit 33/34: Launch event and art activities for Maker World, a new creative and collaborative space in the Piazza, bringing together a number of groups such as EvoKe, Children’s Art School, Chol and WOVEN
