Stevenage Christmas Lights Switch-On 2013

This year's Christmas Lights Switch-On takes place on Thursday 28 November and it's shaping up to be a fantastic night of music and entertainment from some of the best local talent around.

The party get's started at 4pm on stage in the Town Square with Heart fm's breakfast presenters Stuart and Natalie opening the show to introduce performances from Reese Robinson, The Enlights and Stevenage singing sensations Sophia Khoury, Roxy Searle, Nadeem Leigh and Gabz Gardiner. The Warriors Performing Arts Academy will also be showing off their street dancing skills and the cast of the Stevenage Christmas Pantomime "Cinderella" will be on stage to help count down to the BIG SWITCH-ON at 6.30pm.

As well as this stellar line-up of talent, Santa and his Sleigh will be giving out sweets next to the Christmas Tree and Face-to-Face will be face painting in the YMCA Space between 4-8pm. Look out for one of the Heart Angels on the night and pick up your entry to our "Listen to Win" competition - we have £150 Westgate shopping vouchers up for grabs! All this, plus balloons, giveaways, a sparkling firework display and a sprinkling of snow provides the perfect start to the festive season.

The Switch-On event marks the start of late night trading in the town centre, with the majority of stores opening until 8pm and then every Thursday until 8pm throughout December. We are offering free parking in all town centre car parks every Thursday evening too, between 4-8pm, giving you plenty of reasons to pop in to town after work and pick up some Christmas gifts for the family.
