Pictures at an Exhibition

The Stevenage Symphony Orchestra, conductor Phillip Brunton, performs its annual New Year concert at St Martin’s Church, Knebworth, on Saturday 16th January.

The concert programme is on a theme of Musical Pictures, including Mozart's Paris Symphony, Mussorgsky’s ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’ which tells the tale of a musical walk through an art gallery, and Rachmaninoff’s ‘Isle of the Dead’ which was inspired by a famous painting depicting the arrival of a small boat at a remote island.
