Are you the Scorsese of the South Downs?
Actor Hugh Bonneville has joined a team of judges on the hunt for the Scorsese of the South Downs. The ‘My South Downs’ film competition, organised by the South Downs National Park, has a top prize of £500 for the best short film telling a personal story about the National Park.
Joining the Twenty-Twelve and Downton Abbey star on the judging panel are Emily Kyrakides, programme producer from leading South East digital agency ‘Lighthouse’ and Rebecca Watkin, a Cinecity Brighton film festival judge and acclaimed producer.
Whether you’ve grown up in and around the National Park or you’ve only just discovered it, we want to see and hear what it means to you. You have three minutes or less to feature anything from a day out mountain biking, to a quiet ramble, the story of a place which is particularly special to you or about something happening in your local community
Filmakers have until 5pm Friday 25 January 2013 to submit their entries. The second prize winner will receive a cash prize of £300, with £200 to the third prize winner. The winners will also have their films:
- screened at the official launch of the new South Downs Centre in Midhurst, West Sussex
- screened on our website: www.southdowns.gov.uk
- promoted through our Facebook and Twitter; and
- promoted through regional and local press coverage.
