Haunted Halloween Disco
SPOOKTACULAR HAUNTED HALLOWEEN DISCO AT STANDEDGE TUNNELS ON WEDNESDAY 25 OCTOBER
For those that dare, Standedge Tunnels in Marsden near Huddersfield will be getting into the ‘spirit’ by holding a Spooktacular Halloween Haunted Disco for children on Wednesday 25 October between 1pm -4pm. The huge, imposing Victorian Standedge Warehouse, part of the Canal & River Trust charity, will host the disco in its atmospheric Thomas Bourne Room and for the £5 entry fee, there will also be face-painting and Halloween-themed treats. Children are encouraged to come in fancy dress Halloween costumes and there will be a prize for the best dressed children in two categories 0-5 years old and 6-11 years old. In addition, visitors to the site can enjoy the large play area, free access to a fascinating exhibition of the site’s history and free parking. There is also a café selling fresh food on site.

Standedge Tunnels is a 200-year old, Grade II-listed site and is known as one of the wonders of the British waterways because it has the country’s highest, longest and deepest canal tunnel. Opened over 200 years ago, the construction of the tunnel represented industrial engineering at its finest, showing unprecedented technical ingenuity.
