Understanding Eating Disorders
Can Christian teaching and practice aid us in understanding eating disorders?
This talk, given during Eating Disorders Awareness Week, will integrate reflections on personal experience of eating disorders, contemporary research into eating disorders, and the study of Christian doctrine in order to discuss this question. We will consider whether Christianity might offer us useful language and concepts with which to speak about eating disorders, and how Christians might learn from, and engage with, discussions of eating disorders in medical and scientific contexts.
Attendees are welcome to join with or without video, and to step back from the talk at any point.
