Inspired by a dream involving a giant oil tanker flying out of San Francisco Bay, John Adam’s Harmonielehre is a towering work of our time; a giant fusion of minimalism, romanticism, lyricism and tonal manipulation. The fearless and achingly powerful 1st Violin Concerto of Shostakovich and Holst's haunting Egdon Heath begin this musical feast.
