11am–1pm, ages 6–11, children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult, £5 per session or £12 for 3, includes materials and refreshments

Brighten up your autumn Saturdays with activities from paper embossing to action drawing. Whether you come every week or drop by once, you are welcome to take part in these fun art workshops.

6 October — Visual Poetry
Have fun with word games then transform your poetry into a visual artwork. Materials will be on hand to inspire you. Part of Exeter Poetry Festival, see exeterpoetryfestival.com

13 October — Messy Drawing
Inspired by the silent films of Buster Keaton (a popular comedian 90 years ago). Forget old ideas about how to draw and wear old clothes!

20 October — Doodlebug
Draw and doodle with bright colours and transparent, reflective surfaces to produce an unusual artwork to take home.

10 November — Rattle, Bang, Whirr
Animate colourful shapes and patterns to a soundtrack of industrial noise.

17 November — River of Words
Work with others to make a huge river of writing in the gallery based on your innermost thoughts and dreams.
