Studio One Watfords aim is to support the delivery of high quality youth work/art's programmes.
We are a County wide facility & part of our mission is to enable young people 13-19 to experience working in a professional music & media environment using the most current and up to date equipment.
Accredited Courses in Music Production
In addition to the above young people can learn various techniques of music production using workstations in our production suite.
The Studio staff will guide young people through the basic editing procedures outlined below:
• Set up software for multi-tracking equipment;
• Record a rhythm pattern into the multi-track recorder;
• Record a bass pattern into multi-track recorder;
• Record a melodic pattern into the multi-track recorder;
• Adjust the relative levels of each recorded audio track to ‘mix’ the sounds together
• Record (or ‘mixdown’) the blended sounds to a CD;
• Show knowledge of appropriate sound levels for recording;
Live bands and Recording Weekends Saturdays & Sundays 10AM-4PM
Young people can be introduced to the technical skills needed to mic up their equipment (drum kit, guitar amps etc). They will be able to play in the newly constructed live room as a band and can learn how the recording process works using the digital recording studio.
