Internship Aug-Sept

I am a freelance artist looking for a young person to intern for the participatory arts project, Where Are You From, Totnes? This is a Transition Town Arts project engaging the community of Totnes in creative dialogues about identity and belonging, asking where we are from in order to envision where we would like to go. Over the next three weeks, we will hold open sessions in Globe Garden, using performative techniques to document different people's perspectives. Participants' contributions to this living artwork will be presented as an interactive installation in the Totnes Festival during the first two weekends of September. The role of the intern will be to document the creative sessions with the community and the public presentation in the Totnes Festival. The documentation will be posted on the project website on a weekly basis and at the end of the project will be edited into a documentation video for future dissemination. This internship opportunity is appropriate for a young person with technical skills and interest in participatory arts. It is unpaid and will be no more than 20 hours per week, beginning immediately and continuing through September 18, based in Totnes. This is a great career development opportunity, working with a team of 4 professional arts facilitators and seeing the entire creative process through.
