Traps to Catch Sunbeams

Traps to Catch Sunbeams is an illustrated talk by local artist, photographer and camera builder Sam White.

It will look at the creative history and development of the camera obscura - essentially a camera you can climb inside. I have been using camera obscuras for 4 years now and have been researching into their uses through time.

It will use contemporary and historical examples of artists and inventors putting it to creative uses, as well as more information about how it has informed my own work.

My most recent camera obscura will also be on show, and I will be able to show you first hand the fundamentals of light and photography.

The talk is £3, in Hope Hall, Heavitree on the 26th of April at 7pm.
