Visual Artists/Muralists for Mural Youth Project
St Albans Arts, Sport & Health team seeks expressions of interest from artists who would be interested in delivering a community youth project leading to a mural under an old railway arch, along the route of a former railway line, The project will be supported by local police and community youth groups.
The aims of the project are to work with disengaged young people and raise their self esteem and civic pride through creating a piece of art work. The young people will need to consult with users of the walk way, walkers, cyclists and others to find out why they use it and what they would like to see included in the new mural.
The project will consist of:
• Weekly targeted idea development and design sessions at a local evening youth group
• The sessions should explore different mural design/ street art techniques
• The young people will be encouraged to consult with the public in a creative way
• Leading of the mural painting
