Call Out to Local Artists! Giant Monopoly Sculpture Trail!
For the 6th year, St Albans Arts Sport & Health have been hosting the Giant Monopoly Game, played in and around the City Centre and Verulamium Park in St Albans.
This is a FREE event where teams choose two routes, taking in various landmarks and points of interest. At each checkpoint and stop on the Monopoly board, we have entertainers, music, sports and arts activities. Last year we had over 1500 participants and this year we hope to top 2000.
FOR ONE DAY ONLY! You can be part of the Giant Monopoly Sculpture Trail and display your artwork (either 2D or 3D) along the Verulamium Park route. Any media is acceptable, and a link to the game would be preferable. For the last 5 years we have been very lucky with the weather, but consider sealing it in some way, just in case the heaven's open! The work can be suspended, standing, at ground level, or even floated in the River Ver, beside the trail! Safe installation of your artwork is crucial and materials hazardous to wild fowl, such as fishing line, are not permitted.
There is no funding for this, but the chance to display and promote your work to thousands of potential customers. Space permitting, there could be the opportunity to run a drop-in workshop too.
