Roman Day!

Did you know that the month of August is named after Augustus, the first Roman Emperor? In honour of this, and to mark the launch of our new Roman loan box for schools, we are holding a Roman themed day of activities on the 19th of August, – the two thousand and second anniversary of Augustus’ death.

On the day you will be able to see a display of Roman food and cooking (you can pick up a recipe or two while you are here), learn how to play some Roman board games, meet a Roman painter, have a look at some of the objects available in the new loan box and even try on some costumes!

The event is free of charge and you can drop in any time between 11am and 3pm. Please make sure that under 14s are accompanied by an adult.
