Publishing Assistant for leading Photography Publisher

STANLEY/BARKER is an independent publishing house founded in 2014. Rachel and Gregory Barker produce and distribute a select list of highly individual photography publications each year, working with photographers such as Stephen Shore, Trent Parke, Christopher Anderson and Jim Goldberg.

Job description
STANLEY/BARKER is relocating to Hertfordshire, within 15 minutes drive of nearby towns Letchworth Garden City and Buntingford, and a short commute from Cambridge. We would like to find the right candidate to join our team and work with us at an exciting time of growth.
The candidate will initially join us for a minimum of 8 hours each week overseeing mainly STANLEY/BARKER customer care and sales. The role has scope to increase in hours and responsibility and we would like to find someone who wants to grow within our team and take on different areas of involvement within our busy publishing house. We are ideally looking for a candidate based in Hertfordshire who can travel to our studio/office and work with us as a team.

The role will include:
• Managing all Customer Care emails ensuring customers receive prompt replies in line with our guidelines.
• Assisting with enquiries from our stockists/wholesalers
• Using Shopify, Mintsoft and Gorgios software (Training given) keeping data, accounts, and
records up to date.
• Problem solving issues when they arise.
• Taking on any other tasks and ad hoc duties as requested to support the wider business,
such as Marketing, PR, design research and event planning etc.

We are looking for someone to:
• Be organised, self-reliant, with excellent time management.
• Be able to calmly deal with any customer enquiries following guidelines.
• Demonstrate calmness under pressure with the ability to problem solve.
• Be confident in working across different platforms, such as Shopify and Microsoft Excel.
• Be able to assist with tracking customer orders where needed.
• Be willing to quickly to adapt, with an enthusiasm to assist with various aspects of the
business as required.
• Be interested in developing a career or further knowledge of publishing.
