Proper Job are a long established theatre company based in Huddersfield. We create and tour new work, large-scale theatre events and support and work with a wide range of community members.
We are looking to recruit a part-time freelance member of staff to work alongside the team writing and researching successful funding bids to develop the work of the organisation.
You will work closely with the Company Directors and Project Managers, focusing on our Community learning projects, in particular our flagship course ‘The LAB Project’.
If you have a proven track record of successful bid writing, building relationships with funders/trusts and foundations, and working closely with a small team this could be a great opportunity.
This role will be based at our office in Huddersfield but there is scope for some remote working. Ideally you will have a base nearby.
You will be contracted for up to 6 months with a view to renewing this contract after this period for the right candidate.
We expect this role to be approx. 3 days per week. Paid at £120 per day inclusive of all expenses.
Ideally we will be looking for someone to begin this role as soon as possible.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose of the post
Proper Job Theatre Co. is seeking a freelance Fundraising Manager to support and lead on all aspects of fundraising for the company with a particular focus on our community education work.
This role will see you work closely on developing fundraising opportunities, researching and writing bids based largely around our LAB Project - http://www.properjob.org.uk/labproject.html. You will also work alongside our company director, supporting on their fundraising activity, copy checking and creating funding strategies to best support the needs of the organisation.
Essential Skills/requirements:
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Proven success in both small and large scale community focussed bids (up to £300,000)
• Excellent skills in building and sustaining relationships with funders/trusts and foundations
• Good knowledge of funding landscape across Yorkshire and the North West (where the majority of our projects are based)
• Strong organisational skills
• Strong and confident negotiation skills
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft word
Desirable Skills:
• An established network of funders/trusts and foundations
• Previous proven experience writing tenders/bids for local council money/NLDC/SFA/Big Lottery/Clinical Commissioning Groups/Public Health etc
• Experience of working in a similar role for a charity
