Call out for script writer
Script Writer required for new adaptation of 'The Shape of Things to Come' – HG Wells, with critically acclaimed Northern Theatre Company.
The Shape of Things to Come will be a meditation of the things that have come to pass and the things that may come to pass. We are looking for a talented and experience script writer to create a piece based loosely around the HG Wells Novel, for one actor to perform. Alongside the successful candidate, Proper Job are looking to initially create a first draft of the script with a mixture of text and structure which will then be further developed into a full play.
Directed by James Beale. Produced by Proper Job Theatre Company.
This play will be directed and produced by Proper Job Theatre Company with rehearsals and a period of Research and Development taking place in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
Person specification:
The ideal candidate will have experience in:
Developing individual monologues/stories for one person
Writing for theatre, particularly for work that has toured beyond London/Edinburgh Fringe
Working on mid scale touring productions
Working to tight deadlines
Managing own time

We have 3 days of Research and Development from the 14th July to 16th. The successful candidate would need to be available for at least 2 of the 3 days
Fee: £1200
It would be useful, though not essential, for applicants to have a Northern Base to able to easily meet with the Artistic Director and the company as required. We will not be able to cover additional travel costs.
