Call out for experienced designer

Experienced Theatre Designer required for new touring piece, The Shape of Things to Come, with Proper Job Theatre Company.

Inspired by H.G. Wells’ novel of the same title, The Shape of Things to Come is a poignant look at the history of the twentieth century and the history of the future: a future seen through protagonist Bertie’s eyes before he loses his sight.

The Shape of Things to Come is a new touring one man show. It will be performed in rural venues across the North throughout Spring 2015.

The successful Candidate will have experience in:
• Designing for theatre
• Designing and creating work that can easily be toured
• A Northern base from which to work from
• Managing budgets
• Managing own time
• Working solo and as part of a close knit team
• Working well under pressure

Budget: £2,300
(Inclusive of fee, travel and accommodation, and materials.)

Important dates:
Closing date for applications: 5pm Friday 24th October
Interview date: Monday 3rd November
Initial meetings/discussions: November 2014
First design approval: Mid-December 2014
Making period: January 2015
Design complete: Early february 2015
