A children's royal gala has been announced, as our youngest generation's celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

Children and young people from all over the country will take to the stage for Diamond Kids, a royal gala show to take place in the West End on Sunday 4 November.

First News, the children's newspaper behind Diamond Kids have begun a nationwide search, with Jason Donovan, for Britain's most entertaining kids who will be invited to perform at the royal gala, in the presence of royalty. Jason will be the Diamond Kids host on the night.

Young people, aged 17 and under, are invited to upload films showing off their talents to www.firstnews.co.uk/diamondkids. Then some will be invited to take part in one of six regional Diamond Kids shows in Ambassador Theatres around the country, from which the acts will be selected for the royal gala. A host of celebrity mentors will be involved in preparing the children for their West End starring roles.
