Juliette Doughty nee Goddard ”after the late British Painter - Printmaker -Ancestor -William Doughty -A Fine Art Portrait Painter- work representative's in The National Portrait Gallery London and The Royal Academy of arts 1757. A British Portrait painter and student and pupil of Sir Joshua Reynolds RA 17th Century President of The Royal Academy of art and Founder London. The late William Doughty born York 1755 , painted Rev Canon Mason and Mary Palmer Joshua Reynolds niece, Samuel Johnson amongst other powerful people of his that time, alongside- Horatio Walpole.

Biography:
I studied Fine Art at Epsom school of art and design , Middlesex University and The Royal College of art London under several well known Artist's, Richard Went worth, head of sculpture at the Royal College of Art, Paul Huxley and Painter Paula Rego, external examiner at the Royal College of Art. I graduated from Middlesex University with a BA (hons) degree in Fine Art and a Master of Arts Fine Art in Printmaking in 1984, from the Royal College of Arts under the late Professor Alistair Grant .RA .It was at the Royal College of Art that Professor Grant managed to get financial support for to complete first degree from a bursary scholarship from the late Sir Henry Moore's Foundation. I visited Much Hadham his studios in 1984, to see Henry Moore working in his studio ,and grounds with a questions and answer's group workshop , a walk around Much Hadham's estates. During my time at the Royal College of Art under the guidance and influence of Professor Duncan Alistair Grant in my first year second term I was selected to do a student exchange programme in Paris and attend Paris art school the I’ Ecole des Arts Decorative France. At the famous Atelier La Courier-J. Frelaut master printmaker near the Sacre Coeur. Learning the techniques of the French tradition with Jacque Frelaut whom also taught at the art school. Apprentice with the famous artists and master's studying etching lithography and woodcuts . I was very privileged to work with him Jacques Frelaut the schools print technicians’ of Picasso Chagall, Rouault and Henry Moore, as Alistair Grant spoke fluent French and negotiated time for his students to study abroad also promoting the very best for his students, creating opportunities for field study and experience abroad. I gained from the Minister of Culture Certificate 1983 Secretaries General Ecole National Supieure Des Arts Decorative Paris . Returning to the Royal College of Art, I completed a Masters degree in Printmaking the work very much inspired by the French Tradition of print maker painters. My degree exhibition was a great commercial success with a series of colour etchings all inspired by the classical world of the Greeks. “Achilles prepares himself for the Battle” –etching designs were taken up by a Commercial T-shirt company became one of many Art inspired t-shirts, Cream Teas. My more recent exhibition in September was "Choices" and "Europa" -The Woman exhibition at the 12 star European Art Gallery curated by Swiss and Choices an exhibition including over one hundred Black Artist's designers at the Barge house Art gallery in London. There were over a thousand people at the opening event . I wrote a piece for the Black History Month official guide , on Royal College of Art Black another inclusive exhibition at the RCA.
