Our Biennale Finale

A weekend of exhibitions celebrating the creativity of the children and young people in Kirklees who have taken part in Our Biennale festival.

Sculptures, music, sound walks, dance, artwork, films, and photographs will all be on display spread throughout six empty shopping units at the Piazza Shopping Centre, Huddersfield, and online (website coming soon). This collection of exhibitions is of the wonderful work the younger generation have created over this past year juggling school, lockdowns, and isolations.

Miniature town of houses, museums, libraries and other landmarks from Creative Scene‘s Our Place project will also be exhibited at in Dewsbury town centre from Friday 18th until Sunday 20th June as part of our Biennale Finale.

Partners from the Kirklees Local Cultural Education Partnership, EvoKe, collaborated with young people, artists, arts organisations, and teachers in Kirklees to create the Our Biennale festival, which started in September 2020. Throughout the festival musicians, artists, theatre-makers, and choreographers worked with schools, colleges, and communities to enable children and young people to make their very own remarkable pieces of music, art, drama, and dance. Our Biennale Finale marks the conclusion of the festival and a celebration of all that was achieved against the odds.
