HOME Photography Exhibition at The Huddersfield Art Gallery
From photographic portraits of Jodie Whittaker, Sir Patrick Stewart and Lena Headey set in the artist’s home town of Huddersfield, to a series of everyday moments captured in people’s homes and detailed images of objects that reveal personal stories.
The idea of HOME has been an ongoing theme in Olivia Hemingway's work. Central to this show is a personal portrait of 'Madge and Bluey', portraying the artist's grandmother and her budgie. This portrait has lead on to an ongoing series about the relationships between people and their pets.
In addition, this exhibition showcases brand new portraits in Huddersfield, of mixed media artist and writer Marco Zaffino on Chapel Hill and landscape painter Catherine Guggiari working in her space in Bates Mill.
This exhibition aims to explore the meaning of HOME. Asking the question of what home means to you, what it is, what it represents, and what makes home important.
